ADV sampling volume

Hi Benevides,
I'm not sure what doubts you are having, but I'd recommend looking at these two papers for slightly more detailed explanation of how a bi-static system's sample volume is determined:In the paper Acoustic Doppler Velocimeter (ADV) for Laboratory Use , Alte Lohrmann says that the vertical sampling volume extent is defined as the convolution between the transmit pulse and the receive window, which I really didn't understand.
I'dappreciate if someone can give me more details about it some doubts about ADV receive window.
