Hi Benevides,

In the paper Acoustic Doppler Velocimeter (ADV) for Laboratory Use , Alte Lohrmann says that the vertical sampling volume extent is defined as the convolution between the transmit pulse and the receive window, which I really didn't understand.

I'dappreciate if someone can give me more details about it some doubts about ADV receive window.

I'm not sure what doubts you are having, but I'd recommend looking at these two papers for slightly more detailed explanation of how a bi-static system's sample volume is determined:

Zedel, L. (2008). Modeling Pulse-to-Pulse Coherent Doppler Sonar. Journal Of Atmospheric And Oceanic Technology, 25(10), 1834–1844. doi:10.1175/2008JTECHO585.1
